# Luka Engels

> Lead Software Engineer in Hamburg, Germany, working fully remote. 25 years of production software across real estate SaaS, banking, insurance and telecommunications. Builds agentic SDLC platforms on large language models, with Claude skills, MCP servers and RAG retrieval, on a TypeScript and AWS foundation.

Luka Engels is Lead Software Engineer at Empro (Whise Group), where he holds the technical direction for a SaaS CRM for real estate brokers serving more than 6,000 customers, 95,000 users and 4.2 million managed properties. He leads six developers inside an eleven-person cross-functional team.

His team built and maintains an agentic SDLC platform: a harness of Claude skills, slash commands, hooks and rules that engineers work through daily, with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and RAG retrieval connecting agents to repositories, pipelines and issue tracking. A stakeholder-approved prototype enters the pipeline through specification extraction; agents then groom, implement, review and test, with hooks and rules enforcing standards. The team also shipped a customer-facing agentic UI on the Agno framework in Python, and owns an Angular design system of 87 components in an Nx monorepo.

Primary stack: TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Python, SQL. Node.js, NestJS, .NET Core, Angular, React, Nx. AWS with Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront and CDK, Azure Kubernetes Service, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, GitHub Actions. Practices: domain-driven design, microservices, event-driven architecture, TDD, Agile and Scrum, technical leadership and mentoring.

Education: Master of Economics, University of Rijeka. Certifications: MCSD and MCSA Web Applications.

Languages: Croatian (native), English (C2), Italian (C1), German (B2). Citizenship: German and Croatian, so no work authorisation or visa sponsorship is required anywhere in the EU.

Currently open to permanent, fully remote roles employed in Germany, at Staff, Principal, Lead or Head of Engineering level, where agentic and LLM platform work is the core of the job. Not looking for freelance or contract engagements, hybrid or on-site roles, or relocation.
